I used to weigh almost 100kg (now only weigh 77kg) and did not feel very good. I suffered from low energy, my clothing was too tight and I had been diagnosed with pre-diabetics. My doctor said I have 2 options. One, do lots of exercise and another was to simply loose weight. I have tried dieting before and it was not good fun. In fact after dieting I always put back the weight. I need to have a life style change that I could maintain as in never give up. Welcome Intermittent Fasting!
Intermittent Fasting was basically 3 times 24 hours without food followed by eating anything I want. Usually my portion sizes were 20% more than normal but the net calories deficit meant I lost weight fast and blood sure level went down. My fasting days were Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So I always had a weekday break between fasting. However my biggest problem was my hunger.
I found myself drinking lots of tea and coffee on my fasting days which helped quench the hunger. The rules were the beverages needed to be consumed black (so no sugar of milk). I often drank weight loosing tea on my fasting days to further assist in the weight loss and not to drink too much coffee. The tea really helped suppress my hunger (which I really need help with) and it changed my metabolism to assist in loosing weight even faster. So a 2 in 1 solution.
It is very hard at the beginning and I took 2 months until I could do the fasting without breaking a sweat. And to this present day I am still doing intermittent fasting. It is part of my lifestyle and with my tea drinking this has become sustainable.
